XAL restructures Wever & Ducré
8 November 2011 16.00 GMT
(Belgium) - The Austrian lighting manufacturer XAL has acquired the most important assets of its Belgium competitor Wever & Ducré.
Despite previous media reports, it has become clear that XAL did not take over any assets other than Wever & Ducre's intellectual rights (trademarks and design), a Belgian core team for sales, product management and logistics and an Asian production company.
XAL plans to restructure the Wever & Ducré product range by rapidly adopting its latest LED technology and to distribute the new Wever & Ducré product range via its worldwide sales network. The headquarters of Wever & Ducré will stay in Roeselare in Belgium.
Andreas Hierzer, owner of XAL, is happy with the deal: “There is a huge potential of synergies between XAL and Wever & Ducré. We hired great people, got good products, and can pursue our strategy of growth.”
