(UK) - iGuzzini the latest high end architectural lighting brand to commit to the May Design Series event.
iGuzzini UK, the UK subsidiary of iGuzzini Lighting, the high end Italian architectural lighting manufacturer, has committed to exhibiting at The ARC Show, the UK's only dedicated architectural lighting design exhibition.
The UK subsidiary is wholly owned by the mother company in Italy and the United Kingdom is the second largest market for iGuzzini outside of Italy with a turnover of £21 million in 2010.
Ian Stanton, MD of iGuzzini UK, commented: “iGuzzini UK has not exhibited at a show for many years, but the new recipe for The ARC Show, in conjunction with KBB LDN, Interiors LDN and DX, provides an excellent opportunity to showcase our new award winning LED luminaires. We cannot afford to miss such a great new vibrant show.”
The commitment by iGuzzini follows hard on the heals of ERCO's decision to exhibit in the UK for the very first time.
ERCO Lighting's Managing Director, Chris Tiernan, says that it was the positive move to make The ARC Show part of a much bigger design event, the May Design Series, that enabled him to commit ERCO to the event.
“We have never been interested in a trade show just for the lighting industry,” comments Tiernan. “It's a market we already know. This event is for the design industry and that is what appeals to me. With so many new technological advances for us to show, ARC will provide ERCO with the opportunity to meet a wider audience and be part of this bigger design and specification show.”
May Design Series is a collaboration of four events that creates a design trade show with scale. The four component events cover architectural and decorative lighting; interiors; kitchen, bedroom & bathroom specification; and pioneering design.
The ARC Show will be showing the best in high end architectural and decorative lighting specification and is firmly aimed at lighting specifiers including architects, interior designers, lighting designers and retailers. In addition to ERCO, brands that will be on show currently include Philips Color Kinetics, EcoSense, LED Linear, Wibre, Pharos, Rosco, Anolis, Radiant and Spanlight.
Interiors Ldn is the high end interior design London version of Birmingham event targeted at specifiers for international projects including architects, interior designers, hoteliers and hospitality operators. Exhibitors will include Cameron Peters, Content by Conran, Lazerian and Timourous Beasties.
kbb Ldn is the capital's only trade exhibition dedicated to kitchen, bedroom and bathroom specification with the industry’s leading suppliers showcasing highly innovative designs and solutions. Visitors to last year's debut show included Zaha Hadid, Wilkinson Eyre, Gensler, Jestico + Whiles, Conran, Atkins, Skanska, Redrow, Landmark Group, Haroods, John Lewis and Halcyon Interiors. Exhibitors at next year's show include Rocca, Red Dot Products, Adobe, Toto, Crosswater and Baumatic.
DX will bring together the very best cutting-edge products, ideas and solutions for specification, contract and domestic interiors from across the globe. Exhibitors already include Moooi, Ligne Roset, MDF Italia, Armourcoat, Viaduct and Rako.
Paul James, editor of mondo*arc who has taken on sales and editing responsibility for The ARC Show, comments: “Having ERCO and iGuzzini exhibiting at ARC emphasises our commitment to making the show a lighting design event like no other in the UK. We are not interested in the contractor or wholesale market, this is for architectural specification only and the brands that will be on display will reflect that. In fact, The ARC Show will reflect the values of mondo*arc as a magazine - high end, quality, architectural lighting design.”
The architectural and design credentials of the trade show are enhanced further with the involvement of Ab Rogers as exhibition designer and by having Lend Lease and Society of British Interior Design (SBID) as event partners.
The May Design Series will take place at ExCeL London on 19-21 May 2013.
