(UK) - The Society of Light & Lighting (SLL) has announced the release of its new Lighting Guide LG1: The Industrial Environment.
Providing useful reference points to designers by aiding the specification or installation of industrial lighting, the guide aims to ensure the right light gets to the right place on complex production machinery, which in turn ensures safety while maximizing productivity.
LG1 covers a crucial area within the parameters of lighting design and it is hoped the guide will be a useful resource for architects and engineers, as well as contractors and health and safety advisors.
After the recent double-dip recession in the UK, which has seen the industrial sector hit particularly hard, the SLL is keen to emphasize the importance of successful industry to the economic well-being of the country, while highlighting firms which have produced new technology and expanded despite the tough economic climate.
The SSL hopes the new Lighting Guide will assist in ensuring industrial environments can be as productive as possible, through the correct application of lighting.
The LG1 is available from The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers’ (CIBSE) online knowledge portal.
