GERA Leuchten opens new showroom

(Germany) - Innovative new display space focuses on the impact of daylight on modern furniture design.
Based near GERA Leuchten's production site in St. Gangloff, Germany, and covering 70 square metres, the showroom showcases a broad range of the company's products and systems in an adapted environment.
The showroom itself is flooded with daylight, as the company continues to explore the effect daylight has on furniture design and how lighting can respond to it.
“We are playing with the idea that daylight will be the colour of furniture in the future,” says Thomas Ritt, designer and product manager at GERA Leuchten. “This means that furniture lamps should be able to correspond with daylight entering the space.”
Leuchten has, in the past, produced lighting that automatically adjusts to levels of daylight in a space, a process that the company has not been able to replicate at trade shows due to the lack of natural daylight, a problem the new space solves.
The display space also features an open staging area with a functioning kitchen, office zone and conference space, the location of the showroom allowing for regular tours of the nearby Leuchten production complex.
