TOP INDUSTRY SPEAKERS TO ADDRESS END USER APPLICATIONS OF CUTTING EDGE TECHNOLOGY

The fourth annual conference and exhibition, euroLED 2007, will be the biggest yet, with the flagship solid-state lighting show attracting more exhibitors, speakers and pre-registered visitors than ever before. The Photonics Cluster UK today announced that top companies from around the world will have a major presence at the show, including Osram, Philips Lumileds Lighting, Cree, Inc. and Nokia. The event will take place at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham, UK, from the 5th - 7th June.

The euroLED conference will feature presentations on the end-user applications of solid-state lighting, including: environmental effects, with Mark McClear of Cree, Inc. presenting on LEDs are now more efficient than fluorescents - what next?; architectural and residential applications, with Martin Hartmann of TridonicAtco presenting on recent advances in emergency lighting; and displays and backlighting, with Barry Rowland of Nokia presenting on the challenges of backlighting with LEDs.

"This year's event is not just our biggest yet but also our broadest, reflecting the increasing impact that solid-state lighting is having on so many technology areas," said euroLED Conference Director, Nina Blackmore. "We have drawn exhibitors and speakers from around the world and across the whole supply chain of LED technology - euroLED has become a must attend event for all players in this industry."

Also at the show, Dr. Robert Steele of top US research house, Strategies Unlimited, will open the conference with an HB LED Market overview. This will be followed by Dr. Volker Harle, Senior Director LED Marketing at Osram Opto Semiconductors, presenting on success factors for LED Lighting.
