VLM TAKES OVER DISTRIBUTION IN 16 MORE EUROPEAN COUNTRIES ON 1st MARCH

    With its head office in Ebersdorf (Lower Saxony) and main operations in Mettmann, VLM GmbH will, on the 1st March - after its striking successes in Germany, Austria, Denmark and the Netherlands - be taking over the distribution of the group's products in a further 16 European countries. An expansion of its premises and staff is therefore necessary

    Ebersdorf, February 2007 The success of VLM GmbH in the countries for which it is already responsible for distribution (these being Germany, Austria, Denmark and the Netherlands) has been noted with pleasure by the Italian mother company, VLM S.p.A, In increasing turnover in the four countries by up to 25 per cent, the Ebersdorf-based manufacturer and distributor of electric and electronic components with its main operations in Mettmann on the Rhine demonstrated the depth of its understanding of the market as well as the value of its customer-oriented marketing philosophy. From the 1st March onwards, the same success formula will be applied in a further 16 European countries.

    Comments Ingo Schneider, VLM GmbH's Managing Director:
    "Our philosophy is based on the belief that we need to look very closely not just at our immediate customers but also at the end consumers and the market in which they move. The more sedulous the attention we pay to that, the better we can address the requirements of the situation and the demand." Even though he recognizes that consumers behave differently in different countries, VLM's MD nonetheless sees common features: "All business is local - that's true in all countries." What is more, Ingo Schneider has established that sales success invariably follows once you have succeed in identifying and removing the obstacles to it: "They could be the language; they could be the design; they could be the marketing. That's what you have to find out."

    In order to provide optimal service to the 16 new countries, VLM GmbH has increased its office area by over 100 square metres and is expanding its workforce by 20 per cent. To ensure the company is not deflected from its course and that the momentum is maintained, VLM GmbH is already clearing the road ahead and paving the way for further success: "We will probably take on all our current crop of trainees," says Schneider, "as well as continuing to invest in training and further education." From the 1st March onwards, in addition to Germany, Austria, Denmark and the Netherlands, VLM GmbH of Mettmann will be responsible for distribution in the following countries:-
