Zumtobel Lighting Division (ZLD) - comprising the Thorn and Zumtobel brands - has appointed Grant Daniels as Managing Director Sales & Marketing UK / Ireland. In addition to this overall new role, Grant Daniels assumes operative responsibility as General Manager of Thorn UK & Ireland and will be based at the Thorn office in Borehamwood, Herts.
Grant Daniels joined Zumtobel in 1987, where he has grown the UK business continuously and established an excellent market position for the brand. He began his lighting career at Thorn in 1965, joining Moorlite six years later as Technical Director.
Matthew Boucher has been appointed General Manager Zumtobel UK, also with immediate effect. He has held a number of positions since joining the company in 1989, latterly as Commercial Director Zumtobel UK.
Nick Farraway has left Thorn Lighting to seek new professional opportunities outside of the Zumtobel Group. From 1978-95 he held various positions at Thorn before returning in 1999 as General Manager Thorn UK & Ireland.
Commenting on Mr Daniel's appointment, Peter Matt, CEO ZLD, said: "I am delighted that Grant Daniels is heading up this new position. He brings extensive experience in roles which will enable him to make an important contribution to the development of our UK and Ireland luminaire business - the Group's largest single market."
