Cooper Lighting has completed the acquisition of io Lighting, an LED based
commercial lighting fixture company located in Illinois, USA.
io Lighting is an industry leader in the design and manufacture of
technically advanced, environmentally friendly LED luminaires. The company's
innovative product lines, which include linear floodlights, cove lighting,
illuminated handrails, wall sconces and signage, have earned numerous
product design awards since its founding in 2002, including "Best of Show"
at Lightfair 2004. The company also holds patents for various products.
io has focused on the segment of the LED market that utilizes high quality
"white" light. Their custom designs, combined with unique and patented
optical and thermal properties, we believe, have given the lighting design
community a wide range of tools to solve many unique illumination
challenges.
The acquisition will provide the io management team additional resources to
accelerate new product development, and to focus on bringing other new and
innovative products and services to you.
