Advanced Lighting Technologies Inc (ADLT), parent company of Venture
Lighting, has announced the acquisition of Auer Lighting GmbH, the German
lighting components business of Schott AG.
Based in Bad Gandersheim in Northern Germany, Auer Lighting is a leading
supplier of high quality lighting components with a global customer base.
The company employs 500 people in production, sales and administration roles
and has a turnover of approximately $74 million.
Advanced Lighting Technologies is a leading designer and manufacturer of
metal halide lighting products, with operations in the UK, Australia, New
Zealand, India China, the USA and now Germany. It has an annual worldwide
turnover in excess of $250 million.
Sales of Auer lighting products in the UK will be handled by Venture
Lighting Europe, who already supply lamps, ballasts, ignitors and capacitors
to the European lighting industry.
Keith Price, managing director of Venture Lighting Europe, commented "Auer
Lighting will make a valuable contribution to our component division,
complementing and strengthening the core business."
