NOVARA OV
Novara OV expands Hess's street lighting range. Designed and built strictly to be energy efficient and economic to operate, its styling and lighting performance are also top flight.
The high performance reflectors were designed by Hess to deliver maximum luminous efficacy (o% stray emission) and exceptionally wide distribution of light, allowing above-average spacing of poles, which leads to the need for fewer luminaires. Together with the flat glass enclosure, the optical system provides very effective glare control. In addition, Novara OV meets all the requirements of the new EN 13201 European lighting code.
The new luminaire accommodates any of the common lamp types, including sodium high-pressure, compact fluorescent, and metal halide as well as the newest light source, Cosmopolis. This gives cities and utility companies the luxury of being able to select the light source with the best efficacy and light quality for the specific application.
Novara OV's stylistic appearance adds accent to its respective architectural surroundings. Designer Karsten Winkels made use of oval and rectangular geometric shapes, creating a lively dialogue. The minimalist styling of the luminaire housing and bracket lend Novara OV a distinct personality and surprising multiplicity. Novara OV can be ordered with elegant, round Hess poles or separate with one or two brackets for single or twin configuration. 4.6 to 6.6m mounting heights are available and can be chosen respective to the specific site requirements.
Thanks to its use of modern light sources and electronic components as well as the carefully thought out maintenance concept, Novara OV is inexpensive to operate. The luminaire housing opens tool-less with one hand, permitting quick relamping. Another attractive feature is the tool-less removal of the gear tray, on which all of the electronic components are mounted. Hess offers the luminaire with optional automatic power cut-off for reliable safety when the enclosure is opened as well as a relay for the reduction of power use late at night. The former is available for high-pressure sodium lamp configurations. Novara OV is also available with houseside shielding and bicycle path reflector.
