Bucky
Added: Jun 2010
Designed by Studio Lagranja, the Bucky takes its name and inspiration from Richard Buckminster Fuller, the visionary American architect and designer who was the first to experiment with tensile structures, which have been used to create this lampshade.
Soft touch cable is pulled tight, to give the shade – comprising three 70cm milk white, blown glass rods - its shape and structure. As well as carrying the electric current, the wire also provides support for the three blown glass rods, which hang like an acrobat from a rope.
