The second creation by the French designer Inga Sempé – following the suspension lamp Plissé presented in 2007 - Ecran is an ever-so-slightly elliptical wall lamp (28 x 29cm).
It’s a solution that softens what Sempé feels can often be an aggressive and cold type of fixture. The body of die-cast aluminium distances the silk-screened glass diffuser 16cm from the wall, creating an unusual floating effect.
Light from an energy-saving halogen bulb comes both through this diffuser and indirectly, and onto the wall through a slit in the support. The effect is a soft and pure light that illuminates with no glare.
